No spare iPhone or iPad? Use Mac Dock on your Mac
Pro FeaturePro’s Mac Dock puts your decks on the Mac itself — notch, screen edge, or ⌃Space. No second device required.
Short answer
Don’t have a spare iPhone or iPad lying around? You can still use DeckPilot. Pro’s Mac Dock runs your decks right on the Mac: hover the notch or a screen edge, or press ⌃Space to find a button and fire it. No phone, no tablet.
3 steps
Install DeckPilot on the Mac
Download from the download page, open the DMG, drag DeckPilot to Applications. It lives in the menu bar. You need macOS Sonoma 14 or later.
Turn on Mac Dock (Pro)
Open Settings and find Mac Deck. Turn on the notch pill (or the menu-bar strip if your Mac has no notch), an edge hover panel, and/or the command palette. ⌃Space opens the palette by default; you can change that. Everything runs on the Mac — leave the phone in a drawer.
Features calls this “Mac Dock — No iPhone required.” It’s a Pro feature.
Pick how you want to hit buttons
Notch for a quick hover deck. Screen edge if you like a slide-in panel (you can use two edges for two decks). ⌃Space when you’d rather type a few letters and hit Return. Same decks either way — just different ways to reach them.
What you get without a second device
Your decks stay on the Mac. You’re not mirroring a phone screen.
App-aware switching still works on Pro, so the deck can follow the frontmost Mac app.
Pricing: Pro is $7.99/mo, $39/yr, or $79 lifetime. US list prices; local price may vary with purchasing-power pricing. The free tier is phone or tablet only. Mac Dock is Pro.
Still have an iPhone or iPad?
You can still pair one later over Wi-Fi or USB if you want a bigger tap surface. This guide is for the case where you don’t — or don’t want to.
